Rare Ashtead Wembley exhibition Herrick Lion - Small size blue in original box

Extremely rare Ashtead Potters British Empire Exhibition souvenier Wembley Herrick Lion in original box in the blue colourway. This is the smaller size of 80mm (3.15 inches) wide by 61mm (2.4 inches) tall. The piece dates to 1924 or 1925. Facing left the base plinth has a legend which reads 'WEMBLEY'.

The condition of the lion is excellent with just a few tiny nibbles to the edge of the base. Hardly noticable. No cracks and no crazing. The packaging box is in excellent condition.
