No. 10 of the Ashtead Potters Christopher Robin Nursery Set is a small jug, 7.8cm tall (3.1 inches) and 5.1cm (2 inches) wide at the base. The text on the jug simply reads 'Christopher Robin' with each word displayed on opposing sides of the piece and seven illustrations of Christopher Robin in various poses and situations including playing cricket and putting on a raincoat. The jug is the Ashtead 'Liverpool' shape, which was produced in a range of sizes. The tea cup is transfer printed but the original set (presented to the Duke and Duchess of York in 1928) was hand painted, as was a second 'special edition' presented to A. A. Milne's son Christopher Robin Milne - the inspiration for the character.
The legend on the base of the jug reads: This is No. 10 Of 24 Pieces of the Christopher Robin Nursery Set made in England by Ashtead Potters Ltd. Epsom, from E. H. Shepard's copyright Designs Regd No. 740061
